Creating a Delivery

With the optional Delivery module, Supply'd can help you make sure deliveries run smoothly and customers get their orders on time.

Creating deliveries in the optional Delivery module in Supply’d allows you to efficiently plan, organise, and manage the movement of orders to your customers. By setting up deliveries within the system, you can assign orders, allocate vehicles and drivers, schedule routes, and track each delivery from start to finish. This helps reduce errors, improve customer service, and ensures your team has a clear, streamlined process for getting orders out on time.

The Deliveries Page

Selecting Deliveries from the main menu opens the Deliveries page, which lists all deliveries you have created.

  • The Up Next tab shows upcoming deliveries.

  • The Completed tab shows deliveries that have already been completed.

This is also create where you create a new delivery.

The Steps to Creating a Delivery

Go to the Delivery Page

Select Deliveries from the main menu. The Deliveries page will open, listing all upcoming and in-progress deliveries.

Click Add+

Click on Add + in the top right corner.

The Create Delivery Run form will open

Complete the sections as per the guidelines below:

Delivery Details

Delivery Date & Start Time* [required field]

Select the delivery start date and time from the calendar and clock that will show when you click on the field. Click to set the date and time.

Maximum Delivery Time (Hours)* [required field]

Enter the maximum time allowed for each delivery.

Location* [required field]

Select the location this vehicle is used from your list of Locations in the drop-down menu.

Vehicle* [required field]

Select one or more vehicles for the delivery. Click the field to view and choose from your vehicle list.

Order Allocation

This section defines how orders are allocated to this delivery.

Allocate Orders

Choose how orders should be allocated to this delivery.

  • Auto-assign: Have orders automatically assigned based your chosen criteria.

  • Manually: Manually assign orders to the delivery after it has been created.

Order Selection

Choose how you’d like orders to be allocated to this delivery.

  • Picked Orders: Assign all orders that have been picked but not yet delivered.

  • Unfulfilled Orders: Assign all orders that have not yet been fulfilled.

Include Shipping Zones

When filtering by Shipping Zones, select whether to include or exclude them.

  • Include: Include the list of shipping zones related orders.

  • Exclude: Exclude the list of shipping zones related orders.

Shipping Zones

Select the Shipping Zones to include or exclude orders allocated to these zones for the delivery.

Leave blank for all shipping zones.

Include Shipping Rules

When filtering by Shipping Rules, select whether you would like to include or exclude them.

  • Include: Include the list of shipping rules related orders.

  • Exclude: Exclude the list of shipping rules related orders.

Shipping Rules

Select the Shipping Rules to include or exclude orders allocated to these rules for the delivery.

Leave blank for all shipping rules.

Delivery Dates

Select the delivery dates to assign to this delivery run.

Leave blank for all delivery dates.

Click to set the dates.

Order Limit

Enter a limit for the number of orders automatically allocated to the delivery. Maximum 2,000 orders.

Click Create

Click to finish creating the Delivery.


Editing & Adding Delivery Runs

A delivery may consist of multiple Delivery Runs, using multiple vehicles and drivers. Once the delivery is set up and orders are assigned, you can optionally edit runs to assign one or more drivers, change the vehicle for each delivery run, and update the start and end locations or add runs.

If Auto-Assign was selected under Allocate Orders when creating the delivery (see step 4 above) orders will be auto-assigned in the background. You may navigate away from the page, or refresh to see if they have finished being assigned.

Select the Delivery

After clicking , the delivery details will appear. If not, select the delivery from the Deliveries list.

Go to the Runs Tab

Go to the Runs tab. Here you’ll see the runs created for this delivery, including the Run Number, delivery Date, assigned Vehicle and Driver, and how many orders have been Delivered (which will be 0 at this stage).

Select Edit Run or Click Add+

Editing Runs

To edit an existing run, click on the run to open its details. Then, click the 3 dots in the top right and select Edit Run from the menu.

The Edit Delivery Run form will open and you can make changes by following the steps outlined below.

Adding Runs

If you would like to add a run to a delivery, click Add + in the top right.

The Add Delivery Run form will open.

The fields are identical in both the Add Delivery Run and Edit Delivery Run forms.

Complete/update the fields in each section as outlined below:

Delivery Run Details

Vehicle* [required field]

The vehicle used for this delivery run.

Driver

Select the delivery driver for this Delivery Run.

Start Time* [required field]

Enter the start time of this delivery run in 24 hour time format (HH:MM). The run must be performed within the overall delivery hours set for the main delivery.

Maximum Delivery Time* [required field]

Enter the maximum delivery time for this delivery run in hours. The run must be finished within the overall delivery hours set for the main delivery.

Start Location

Select the start location for the delivery run from the list of your Locations or choose Custom Address.

If the Start Location is different from your list of locations (for example, if a driver wants to start their run at home), you can select Custom Address. When this option is chosen, additional address fields will appear for you to enter the details.

End Location

Select the End Location for the delivery run from the list of your locations, or choose Custom Address (as shown above for the Start Location).

Save

Click to apply your changes.


Assigning Orders to a Delivery

Supply'd will auto-assign deliveries based on certain Shipping Zones, Order Status, Delivery Dates etc. You can also manually assign orders.

When Auto-Assign is selected, the orders will automatically be assigned. If you would like to add any orders you can follow the instructions below for manually adding orders.

Manually Assigning Orders

To manually assign orders to a delivery:

Go to the Orders Tab

After creating the delivery and making any necessary edits to runs, go to the Orders tab.

Click Assign +

Click on or Assign + in the top right.

The Assign Orders page will open.

Select the Orders

Check the box next to each order you want to to include in the delivery.

Clicking the 3 dots in the top right opens a menu with 2 options

  • Refresh: Updates the page to show the latest information.

  • Toggle Full Screen: Expands the page to full-screen view, providing more space to view data without distractions.

Click Assign

Click to add the orders to the delivery.

The orders will now appear on the list under the Orders tab.


Optimising the Route

Once you’re satisfied with the delivery runs and the assigned orders, you can optimise the delivery route.

Route optimising is the process of planning and arranging delivery stops in the most efficient order to save time, reduce fuel costs, and improve overall delivery speed. In Supply’d, route optimising helps streamline delivery operations by using Supply'd Intelligence to automatically calculate the best sequence of customer stops based on factors like distance, traffic, and delivery priorities.

To optimise the delivery, click on the 3 dots in the top right and select Optimise Route from the menu.
