# Connecting to a Supply'd Supplier
Connecting with a Supply’d Supplier makes it easier to access current products & pricing & place orders directly through Supply’d.
Connecting with a **Supply’d Supplier** allows you to trade directly with suppliers already using the Supply’d platform. Supply’d Suppliers cannot be added manually and must be connected through the platform. Once connected, you can access supplier-managed product and pricing information, place orders, and manage your purchasing activity directly through Supply’d.

**Custom vs Supply’d Suppliers**

**Supply’d Suppliers** are suppliers already using the Supply’d platform. Their supplier details, products, and pricing are managed by the supplier and automatically synced to your account. These suppliers cannot be added manually and must be connected through Supply’d. They appear in the **Suppliers** list with the status.
**Custom Suppliers** are suppliers that are not connected to your business through Supply’d. They can be added manually, allowing you to manage their details, products, pricing, and other information within your account. These suppliers appear in the **Suppliers** list with the status.

#### Open the Suppliers Page
Select **Suppliers** from the main menu to open the **Suppliers** page.

#### Go to the Connect Tab
Go to the **Connect** tab to view suppliers available to connect with on Supply’d. Only suppliers with public stores will appear in this list; suppliers with invite-only stores will not be displayed.

#### Select the Supplier
Select the supplier you would like to connect with to open their **Supplier Details** page.

**Connecting Through the Add Supplier Form**
Alternatively, follow the steps in [Adding a Custom Supplier](/supplyd-erp/suppliers/adding-suppliers-and-supplier-groups/adding-a-custom-supplier.md) and begin entering the supplier’s name in the **Trading Name** field. As you enter the supplier’s details, Supply’d automatically checks for matching suppliers already on the platform. If a match is found, you will be prompted to connect with the existing **Supply’d Supplier** instead of creating a **Custom Supplier**.

#### Click Connect
Click to send a connection request to the supplier.
You will be asked to confirm.

#### The Supplier Approves or Declines
The supplier will receive an email notifying them of the connection request. The request will also appear under the **Requests** tab on their **Customers** page, with a red number indicating the number of active connection requests.
The supplier will review your connection request and either approve or decline it. Once approved, the supplier will be added to your **Suppliers** list and you can begin trading with them through Supply’d.
