# Stock Transfer (Scanner)

Transfers can be performed through the Supply’d app or using a handheld scanner. The Supply’d handheld scanner makes stock transfers faster, more accurate, and easier to manage. Instead of manually tracking items between locations, you can scan products directly to create, track, and complete transfers. This helps reduce errors, keeps your inventory up-to-date in real time, and allows staff to process transfers efficiently - whether moving stock between warehouses, stores, or production areas.

👉 For details on performing transfers through the app, see the [Transferring Stock Between Locations/Warehouses](/supplyd-erp/inventory/transferring-stock-between-locations-warehouses.md) document.

This document will guide you through the transfer process step by step, providing detailed explanations and helpful insights for:

## Receiving the Transfer

For the transfer to be complete, it must be **Received** at the **Transfer To Warehouse** location.

To start a **Receive**, open Supply'd on the scanner. Select **Receive** from the **Scanner** menu.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.filestackcontent.com/s7k1smGlQMCqjHz0FyIw" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Continue as explained for **Receiving Orders** in the **Scanner >** [Receiving Orders (Scanner)](/supplyd-erp/scanner/receiving-orders-scanner.md) document.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Auto Receiving Transfers**

If **Auto Receive Transfers** is set to **Yes** in [Order Settings](https://help.supplyd.co/configuring-supplyd/settings/order-settings) you can auto-receive transfers within the same location. This is ideal for single-user transfers (eg. stock from back-of-house to storefront) where you want the stock to auto-receive once picked.

Transfers from other locations will still need to be received manually.
