# Nutrition Info for Production & Recipe Products
Adding Nutrition Information helps ensure accurate and consistent nutritional information is available for product labelling.
Adding **Nutrition Information** to **Production** and **Recipe** products allows you to calculate the nutritional values of the finished product based on the ingredients used, including energy, fat, protein, carbohydrates, and other nutrients. **Nutrition Information** is added in the **Labelling Details** section when adding or editing a Production or Recipe product.
Supply’d can automatically calculate the nutritional information for **Production** and **Recipe** products using the nutritional values of the ingredients included in the product’s **Recipe**. The calculation can also account for changes in weight during production or preparation to provide more accurate nutritional values for the finished product. This information can then be used when generating **Product Labels**, helping ensure nutritional details are displayed clearly and consistently.

Additional **Nutrient Fields** can be added to include more nutritional values that are relevant to the product. This allows you to provide a more detailed nutritional breakdown beyond the standard nutrient fields displayed in the **Nutritional Table**.

## Adding Nutrition Information

#### Click Edit
When completing the **Add Product** form while [Adding a Product](/supplyd-erp/products/adding-products/adding-a-product.md), go to the **Labelling Details** section and click the button under **Nutrition Information**.
The **Nutritional Table** will open, where Supply’d can automatically calculate the nutritional information for the **Production** or **Recipe** product based on the ingredients or components used.

### Servings Per Package & Serving Size
For **Production** and **Recipe** products, Supply’d can automatically calculate the **Servings Per Package**/**Serving Size**.
**Servings Per Package**
Enter the total number of servings contained in one full package of the product. This is used to calculate and display nutrition information correctly on the product label. For example, if a bottle contains **500 ml** and each serving is **250 ml**, enter **2**.
**Serving Size**
Enter the amount of product in a single serving, based on the typical portion a person would consume at one time. The **Serving Size** is used to calculate and display the nutritional values **Per Serve** on the product label.

Before using the **Calculate** feature, you must complete the **Recipe Versions**, including the **Stages** and **Items** sections.

A **Product Size** must also be set for the product before Supply’d can calculate or recalculate the **Servings Per Package**/**Serving Size**.

**✅ Calculate Serving Size**
If you already know how many **Servings Per Package** there are, Supply’d will calculate the **Serving Size** for you.\
\
For example:
* You enter “Servings per Pack” = 4
* The total pack weight is 800g
* It will calculate the **Serving Size = 200g**
**✅ Calculate Servings per Pack**
If you know the **Serving Size**, Supply’d will calculate how many servings fit in a pack.\
\
For example:
* You enter **Serving Size** = 250ml
* The total pack volume is 1lt
* It will calculate **Servings Per Package = 4**

### Calculating Nutrition
For **Production** products, Supply’d can automatically generate the **Nutrition Information** based on the ingredients used in production.

Before using the **Generate** feature, you must complete the **Recipe Versions**, including the **Stages** and **Items** sections.
For accurate nutrition calculations, each ingredient or product used in the recipe must also have its **Nutrition Information** completed.

Click on the 3 dots in the top right and select **Generate From Recipe**.
Supply'd will automatically calculate the nutritional values (like energy, protein, fat, sugar, etc.) for your finished product, using the nutrition details from all its components.

Supply'd automatically calculates the nutritional values for Production and Recipe type products by pulling the nutrition data from each ingredient in your recipe and calculating the total values based on their quantities. This saves time and helps ensure your Nutrition Information Panel is accurate and compliant with labelling standards.

#### **Adding Nutrient Fields**
If you have any additional **Nutrient Field(s)** in the [Product Settings](/supplyd-erp/settings/product-settings.md#nutritional-info) section of your [Product Settings](/supplyd-erp/settings/product-settings.md), an button will show in the **Nutrition Info** section of **Labelling Details** when adding or editing a product. This allows you to select the additional nutrient and record its nutritional value for the product.\
\
1. Click .
2. Select or type in the field to find the nutrient you want to add.
3. Click .
The nutrient will be added to the **Nutritional Table**, where you can enter the relevant value.\

### Recipe Weight, Final Weight & Weight Change
These fields account for any weight loss or gain during production, such as moisture loss during cooking or water absorption. Because nutritional values are calculated by weight, recording these changes helps Supply’d accurately calculate the nutritional information **per 100 g** for the finished product.
#### Recipe Weight (Input Weight)
Enter the total raw weight of all ingredients combined before any processing or cooking takes place.
* **How it’s Calculated** - Supply’d automatically adds together the weights of all ingredients included in the recipe.
* **For Example -** If the recipe contains **500 g** of ground beef, **10 g** of salt, and **90 g** of egg, the **Recipe Weight** is **600 g**.

#### Final Weight (Yield Weight)
Enter the actual weight of the finished product after it has been cooked, baked, or processed.
* **Why it Matters** - Products can lose weight during cooking or processing, often due to moisture loss. Entering the finished weight helps Supply’d accurately calculate the nutritional values based on the final product.
* **For Example** - If the **Recipe Weight** is **600 g** and the finished product weighs **510 g** after cooking, enter **510 g** as the finished weight.

#### Weight Change (%)
The **Weight Change (%)** shows the percentage of weight lost or gained during production.
* **How it’s calculated** - Supply’d automatically calculates the percentage based on the difference between the **Recipe Weight** and **Final Weight**.
* **Negative Value (-)** - Indicates a weight loss, which commonly occurs during baking, roasting, or cooking when moisture evaporates.
* **Positive Value (+)** - Indicates a weight gain, which can occur when products such as rice or pasta absorb water during cooking.
* **Example** - If the **Recipe Weight** is **600 g** and the **Final Weight** is **510 g**, the **Weight Change** is **-15%**.

**Why this is critical for Nutrition Labels**
The law requires nutrition panels (like "Calories per 100g") to reflect the product as sold (usually the cooked state).
* **Without Final Weight** - The system thinks 100g of your burger has the calories of 100g of raw meat.
* **With Final Weight** - The system understands that 100g of your *finished* burger actually contains about 115g worth of raw ingredients' nutrients, making the label legally compliant and accurate.

#### Click Done
Once all details have been entered, click to add the **Nutrition Information** to the **Labelling** section.

## Removing Nutrition
Removing nutrition is useful if you need to reset the information, for example, if the recipe has changed or if you want to manually re-enter or re-generate the data from updated ingredients.

On the **Nutrition Information** table, click . The **Edit Nutrition** form will open.

Click on the 3 dots on the top right of the **Edit Nutrition** form and select **Remove Nutrition**.
You will be asked to confirm.
Click .
This will clear all the nutritional data currently entered or generated for the product.
