# Duplicate Product Function
Using the Duplicate Product function saves time, reduces data entry, and helps maintain consistent product information across similar products.
Adding products in Supply’d is quick and efficient using the **Duplicate Product** function. This feature lets you copy the details of an existing product, so you only need to make the necessary changes instead of entering everything from scratch. It’s particularly useful when adding similar products with different sizes, flavours, or variations.
For example, we need to add a dairy-free version of the Blue Chocolate Unicorn product from Unicorn Chocolates. The brand, size, and price are the same as the existing Blue Chocolate Unicorn product. Using the **Duplicate Product** function saves time by copying the existing product details, so we only need to update the name, SKU, barcode, and description.
This document explains how to add a product using the **Duplicate Product** function.

### Creating Products Using the Duplicate Product Function

#### Select the Product
Select **Products** from the main menu, then click the product you want to duplicate.

Use the **search** or **filter** options to narrow the list and make it easier to find the product you want to duplicate.

The product's page will open, displaying details such as the brand, price, barcode, and other product information.

#### Select Duplicate Product
Click the 3 dots in the top right, then select **Duplicate Product** from the menu.
The **Add Product** form will open with the details copied from the original product.

#### Change Details
Simply update what's needed, like the name, image, SKU, barcode and description.

**Remember:**
* The name should be unique.
* The SKU must be unique.
* The barcode must be unique.

In our example, we are adding a dairy-free version of the **Blue Chocolate Unicorn**. The product is the same size and appearance, and the supplier details and purchase price are also the same. By duplicating the existing product, we only need to update the following:
* **Product name** - Change from **Blue Chocolate Unicorn** to **Dairy Free Blue Chocolate Unicorn**
* **SKU**
* **Barcode**
* **Description** - Add **dairy-free** to the description
* **Ingredients**

#### Click Save
Click to create your new product.
The product will appear on the Products list.
