Adding a Product

Products in Supply’d can be used to buy, sell, or produce, with settings available to configure how each product is used.

Adding a product to Supply’d allows you to create and manage a product record, including key information such as the product name, SKU, pricing, supplier, labelling, and sales channel details. Products can be added manually or duplicated from an existing product, using a Simple Product methodology, meaning each size, colour, or flavour is created as a separate product.

There are 2 ways to add products to Supply'd.

This document explains how to manually add a new product and complete the required product information.

Adding a Product

Go to the Products Page

Select Products from the main menu to open the Products page, where you can view a list of all products in Supply’d.

Click Add+

To add a new product, click the Add + button in the top right.

The Add Product form will open.

To open or close the sections on this form click the little arrows to the right of the titles (as circled in red above).

Complete the sections as per the guidelines below:

Product Details

The details about this product such as name, size, images, description etc.

Custom Fields

Any custom field data for this product.

Custom Fields are extra fields you can create to capture information specific to your needs. They can be different from the default fields shown in examples.

Product Type

Defines the kind of product it is - for example, a Standard product, a Bundle, or a Recipe item.

Product Type* [required field]

Select the type of product this is.

Depending on your selection, additional sections will appear for you to enter the relevant details. These are explained in detail in the Product Types documents.

Labelling details

Relevant details for labelling products such as ingredients, nutrition, storage type and more.

This section will not show for Shipping Carton, Carton Container or Gift Card type products.

Buy Product

Toggle on if you buy this product from a supplier.

This field will not show when Bundled, Recipe, or Production are selected as the Product Type.

Click the Type Supplier Name field or start typing to select a supplier, then click .

The Buy Product? section will expand, allowing you to enter the relevant product details.

Sell Product

Toggle on if you sell this product.

Fulfilment Rules

This section defines the rules for picking and packing, and dispatching this product.

Sell on Supply'd - [Supply'd Store Name]?

Toggle this on if you want to sell the product through the specified Supply’d store.

👉 Complete the details in this section following the guidelines in the Sell on Supply'd Details document.

The following sections - Shopify, Square, MYOB & Xero - will only appear if you have those platforms integrated with Supply'd.

Sell on Shopify - [Shopify Integration Name]?

Toggle on if you would like to sync this product to your Shopify online store. Additional fields will show when this is toggled on.

Sell on Square - [Square Integration Name]?

Toggle on if you would like to sync this product to Square.

👉 Complete the details in this section following the guidelines in the Sell on Square Details document.

Other Sales Channel Integrations

Complete the sections for any other sales channel integrations required - Ordermentum, Wedderburn, or WooCommerce - following the guidelines provided in the respective documents:

MYOB Settings

If MYOB is integrated with Supply’d and you want this product to sync, configure the MYOB settings for this product.

If this section is not completed, Supply’d will use the global settings configured for your MYOB integration.

Xero Settings

If you have Xero integrated with Supply'd and want this product to sync, configure the Xero settings for this product.

If this section is not completed, Supply’d will use the global settings configured for your Xero integration.

Advanced

Advanced settings for this product.

Enable Picking

Select whether or not this item should appear in pick lists. If "No" is selected, the item will only show at the packing stage.

Collate Picking

Select whether to collate this item during picking when multiple units are ordered. This is useful when additional metadata may be present in imported orders.

Notes

Add any desired notes about this product, for internal reference only.

Save

Click to finish creating the product.

Save Product is also available at the top of the form by clicking the 3 dots in the top right.

Creating Products Using the Duplicate Products Function

The Duplicate Product function lets you copy an existing product’s details, saving time when adding similar products with different sizes, flavours, or variations.

For example, to add a dairy-free Blue Chocolate Unicorn, we can duplicate the existing product and only update the name, SKU, barcode, description, and ingredients.
