# Guided Weigh-Up (with Wedderburn)
Guided Weigh-Up integrates compatible **Wedderburn** scales directly with Supply'd to streamline ingredient weighing during production. As each ingredient is weighed, the scale sends the live weight to Supply'd, allowing staff to follow step-by-step instructions and accurately measure the required quantities.
This reduces manual data entry, improves weighing accuracy, speeds up production, and helps ensure recipes are produced consistently every time. Guided Weigh-Up is particularly useful for high-volume production environments where precision and traceability are important.

**Integrated Scales** is currently available as a **private beta** and supports **Wedderburn scales**.

Before using Integrated Scales, you must:
1. Have compatible physical scales available - currently Wedderburn scales.
2. Have the scales connected through the supported scales integration - currently [Wedderburn](/supplyd-erp/integrations/sales-channel-integrations/wedderburn.md).
3. Add and configure the scales in your [Device Set-Up](/supplyd-erp/settings/device-set-up.md).
4. Configure products and production items to use the appropriate scales.

Scales are not directly assigned to individual scanners or devices. Instead, use scales through the dedicated **Scales Screen** during production.

## Adding Scales to Device Set-Up

Click on your company name in the top right and select **Settings**.

Scroll down and select **Device Set-up** from the **Settings** menu. The **Printers** list will open.

## Enabling Scale-Based Weighing for a Production Product
To use a product with **Guided Weigh-Up**, scale-based weighing must first be enabled for the product items.

#### Set-Up or Edit the Production Product
Scales can be specified when adding [Creating a Production Product](/supplyd-erp/production/creating-a-production-product.md#production-items) while [Creating a Production Product](/supplyd-erp/production/creating-a-production-product.md).
Alternatively, you can edit an existing product by selecting the product and navigating to the **Production Items** section.

#### Select the Scale
You can select the scale when adding the item, or for an existing product, click and the **Edit Production Items** form will open.
Select the **Wedderburn** scale you would like to use for this product. These scales will be displayed as the recommended scales during the **Guided Weigh-Up** process, helping operators identify which scale to use for each ingredient.

The **Scale** field is only available for ingredients measured by weight.
If an ingredient is measured in units, pieces, cartons, trays, or another non-weight measurement, the scale selection field will not be available.

#### Enter a Tolerance
In the **Tolerance** field, specify the acceptable percentage variance from the target quantity or weight. During production or weighing, quantities that fall within the tolerance range are considered acceptable, helping ensure consistency while allowing for minor variations.
For example, if the target weight is **100g** and the tolerance is **5%** (ie. **±5g**), any weight between **95g** and **105g** will be accepted.

#### Repeat for Each Item
Repeat this process for any other production items that you would like to use with integrated scales. This ensures live weight data can be captured throughout the production process wherever weighing is required.

## The Scales Weigh-Up Screen
Once your [Wedderburn](/supplyd-erp/integrations/sales-channel-integrations/wedderburn.md) scales have been integrated and added to your [Device Set-Up](/supplyd-erp/settings/device-set-up.md), and [scale-based weighing has been enabled](#enabling-scale-based-weighing-for-a-production-product) for the production items, when a production run is opened on the **Scales Screen**, the selected stage is displayed on the left-hand side of the screen, along with any instructions configured for that stage.
The current user and production timer are displayed in the bottom left of the screen.
In the **Weigh-Up** screen, Supply'd will display the first ingredient requiring weighing, along with:
* The ingredient name
* The target quantity **Required**
* The **Total** live weight reading from the scale
* The **Remaining** weight required
* The scales to be used
Batch details are displayed in the bottom section of the screen, below the **Weigh-Up** area.

## Starting a Guided Weigh-Up Stage
Guided Weigh-Up allows production staff to weigh ingredients directly into a recipe while Supply'd receives live weight data from a connected Wedderburn scale. The system guides the operator through each ingredient in sequence, helping ensure the correct quantities are added and reducing the risk of weighing errors.

It is recommended to create a dedicated **Guided Weigh-Up Stage** for any production step that requires integrated scales. This makes it easy for operators to switch between the **Scales Screen** and the normal Supply'd or scanner screens as they move through the production run.

#### Create or Open the Run
Create or open the production run you wish to complete.

#### Start Guided Weigh-Up Stage
Open the production stage that requires weighing on the **Scales Screen**.
In the Weigh-Up screen, Supply'd will display the first ingredient requiring weighing, along with:
* The ingredient name
* The target quantity **Required**
* The **Total** live weight reading from the scale
* The **Remaining** weight required
Select the appropriate batch from the bottom of the screen before beginning to weigh the ingredient.

#### Weigh the First Ingredient
1. Place an empty container on the scale.
2. Click to zero the scale before adding the ingredient. This ensures only the weight of the ingredient is recorded and not the weight of the container.
3. Add the ingredient to the container while watching the live weight displayed in Supply'd. As weight is added, Supply'd continuously updates using the data received from the scale.
4. Once the target weight has been reached, as indicated by the green tolerance lines, click to automatically record the ingredient and proceed to the next step.\

Supply'd will indicate when an ingredient is:
* Underweight - **Orange**
* Within tolerance - **Green**
* Overweight - **Red**\
This allows operators to make adjustments before moving on to the next ingredient.
**Note -** The button will remain greyed out until the measured weight falls within the configured tolerance range. Once the weight is within tolerance, the button will turn blue and become available to click.

**Using Multiple Batches**
Sometimes the required quantity must come from multiple stock batches.
For example:
* Recipe requires 5 kg.
* Batch A contains 3 kg.
* 2kg is required from Batch B.
In this situation:
1. Weigh Batch A and press .
2. Select Batch B and continue adding product until the required weight is reached.
3. Press .
Supply'd records the quantity used from each batch while maintaining the total quantity required for the ingredient.
No tare is required between batches.

#### Repeat
Click and repeat this process for each ingredient used in the stage until all required items have been weighed and recorded.

When moving to the next item, the system will automatically tare the scale, resetting the displayed value to zero. The tare value will be set to the weight of the items already weighed, so if all ingredients are being added to the same large bowl or container, there is no need to manually tare the scale before each ingredient. The system will ensure that only the weight of the current ingredient is recorded.

#### Complete the Weigh-Up Stage
Once all ingredients have been weighed:
1. Review the final ingredient quantities.
2. Click . You will be asked to confirm.
Click .
Supply'd will use the actual weighed quantities when recording stock consumption and production history.

#### Proceed to Next Stage
Continue with the remaining production stages, or return to the normal Supply'd screen or scanner to complete any stages that do not require integrated scales to complete the production run.

Some stages may not require weighing and instead use a quantity-based measurement. In these cases, use the buttons to enter the required amount, then record the quantity to continue.
If no scales are required for the current stage, you can complete the stage using the normal Supply'd screen or scanner instead of the Scales Screen.

### Resetting a Weighing Entry
If an incorrect quantity is accidentally recorded:
1. Select the ingredient.
2. If necessary, select the batch.
3. Press .
This clears the recorded quantity and removes any selected batch, allowing the correct batch to be chosen and the ingredient to be weighed again.

### Pausing a Production Run
If production must stop temporarily:
1. Tap the timer beside your name.
2. Select **Pause**.
The entire production run will pause.
When ready to continue:
1. Return to the production run.
2. Select **Resume**.\

### Resuming After Closing the Scales Screen
If the Scales Screen is closed before the stage is completed:
* Previously recorded ingredients remain saved.
* When reopened, Supply'd automatically returns to the first ingredient that has not yet been completed.
This allows operators to continue where they left off without re-entering previous measurements.

### Labour Tracking During Weigh Up
The Scales Screen currently tracks:
* One operator
* Automatic time tracking
Manual time adjustments and additional labour entries are not currently supported within the Scales Screen.
For this reason, it is recommended that weighing activities be performed in their own dedicated **Weigh Up** stage rather than combined with other production activities.
