# Connect ChatGPT

Connect Supply'd ERP to ChatGPT with a custom MCP plugin.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Supply'd MCP is a read-only private beta for invited Supply'd ERP customers. It is not available for standalone Hub or Lite accounts.
{% endhint %}

## Add Supply'd

Your workspace must permit custom MCP connections. If creation is unavailable, ask your administrator.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

## Create the connection

Open **Plugins**, select **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Enter Supply'd's details

* **Name:** Supply'd
* **Connection:** Server URL
* **URL:** `https://mcp.supplyd.co/`
* **Authentication:** OAuth

Use automatic OAuth discovery. Do not enter a client secret unless Supply'd has provided one.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Review and authorise

Check the server address, acknowledge the custom-server warning, and select **Create as a plugin**. Review the discovered tools.

When prompted, sign in at `app.supplyd.co`, select the ERP areas to allow, and approve.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Use Supply'd

Install the plugin. In a new chat, type **@** and select **Supply'd**. Mention it again when a follow-up needs fresh ERP data.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Test it

> Show my five most recent sales orders.

Then ask:

> Summarise the items and status of the newest order.

Your Supply'd permissions and selected access still apply. Each server call uses **0.01 usage tokens**, and a question may require several calls.

For current plan eligibility, workspace controls and alternative menus, see [OpenAI's connection guide](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-connecting-custom-mcp-servers-in-chatgpt). If setup fails, see [Troubleshooting](/mcp/manage-your-connection/troubleshooting.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.supplyd.co/mcp/getting-started/connect-chatgpt.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
