Physical Printer Settings (for Clients)

Using a Supply'd printer with the OpenLabel app ensures a reliable connection by locking in a Static IP, preventing the printer from losing its network link after router restarts.

This document is intended for clients who are using a printer provided by Supply’d in conjunction with the OpenLabel app. It provides step-by-step instructions and guidance to help clients successfully set up, connect, and manage their physical printers within the app. The content is specifically relevant to users who are working with Supply’d printers, ensuring they can quickly get their devices operational and begin printing labels efficiently.

Setting Up Your Physical Printer in OpenLabel

The initial setup step has been completed for you, so now you can easily connect your physical printer by following the below steps to configure a network IP address for the printer through a mobile device.

Initial Connection

Before starting, ensure your mobile device has both WiFi and Bluetooth enabled.

  1. Enable Connectivity: Open your phone's control panel and turn on WiFi and Bluetooth.

  2. Open Printer App: Launch the application and select the WiFi icon from the main menu.

  3. Select Device: In the "Select Device" list, tap on your printer, identified as Label Printer_LE.

Network Configuration

  1. Enter Password: Type your WiFi network password into the Password field.

  2. Assign Dynamic IP: Tap the blue [Set Dynamic IP] button. This allows the router to temporarily assign an address to the printer.

  3. Convert to Static IP: Once an IP address appears (replacing 0.0.0.0), tap the blue Set to Static IP button. This ensures the printer maintains the same address consistently.

  4. Finalise: The status next to the IP address should now read "Static IP". Note down this IP address for your records or further software configuration.
